DOWNTIME

In this project, my objective was to reimagine ‘The Slow Movement’ as a lifestyle campaign, aiming to raise awareness of the philosophy of ‘Slow Living’. I created textile artefacts self-coined ‘idle instruments’ to serve as an aid by helping people perform ‘slow’ routine activities. I produced a publication that acts as a guide in fortifications of human connection, wellbeing, as well as provide motifs of expressions associated with tranquility. It also provides quotes to inspire and further explain the ethos of ‘Slow Living’

“The only thing that is certain is that everything changes... The rate of change increases. If you want to hang on you better speed up. That is the message of today. It could however be useful to remind everyone that our basic needs never change. The need to be seen and appreaciated. It is the need to belong. The need for nearness and care and for a little love! This is given only through slowness and in human relations. In order to master changes, we have to recover slowness. There we will find real renewal”
