120 MINUTES

The aim of this brief was to take a given setting, explore/investigate it, then produce a publication that portrayed the experience of that particular place. We needed to evoke the essence of the location, without being too obvious, whilst pushing the boundaries of what is expected in a publication. My partner on this project, Kate, and I were given cinema. We were drawn to the idea as film as an escape, and other relationship with technology in the modern world. The essay ‘The Great Escape’ wriiten by Damien Walter perfectly described the unspoken truths of why we seek to escape reality. We paid homage to this essay in a publication that emphasizes the physical setting of the cinema, in it’s layout, as well as an emotional experience.
